The Haslemere Fringe Festival is a charity event, run and supported entirely by their fantastic volunteer network from the local community and beyond.   The next Fringe Festival will run from Friday 1st July to Sunday 3rd July 2022 – and volunteers are needed for the Set up from Wednesday 29th June and the Take down on Monday 4th July – as well as lots of other volunteer roles!

Volunteers are vital to the vibrancy and smooth running of the Haslemere Fringe Festival and most importantly to keep the Fringe ticket prices affordable. Volunteering also offers a great opportunity to meet new friends and be involved in a brilliant community event.  Volunteers will be rewarded  with free entry to the day of the festival on which they volunteer.

The Fringe are looking for volunteers to help with the following:

Set up: To help set up the general infrastructure prior to opening. This role requires a degree of strength and agility.

Bar: To be able to handle cash and work at a fairly busy pace serving thirsty  customers!  Keeping the bar area clean and tidy and taking instruction from the Bar manager.

Gate: Welcoming our Festival folk, taking money, scanning tickets, issuing wristbands. Training will be given on arrival.

Stewarding: Patrolling around the site or stationed at points allocated (you will not be left in one position) Litter picking, Gate duty or any other general helping-out as requested by your site manager.

Take down: On the Monday after the festival, to take down fencing and infrastructure and any other jobs that the site manager may request of you.  As before, this will require a degree of strength and agility.

Each shift will be 3 hours and the rest of that day will be free for you to enjoy the festival.  Interested?  Go to the Fringe website – www.haslemerefringe.co.uk  and fill out the appropriate forms and choose your rota.

Alternatively, come along to the Fringe Festival Volunteers evening to be held at Hemingways on Haslemere High Street on Tuesday, 10th May from 5.30pm – 8.00pm.  Enjoy complementary drinks and nibbles, discuss the rotas available and come and join The Fringe Family!
