Rebecca Ferguson

With less than 100 days until the start of the Haslemere Fringe Festival, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Rebecca Ferguson is the latest star announced to perform on Saturday 6th July.

Born in Liverpool, Rebecca came to prominence in 2010 when she appeared on the hit TV show ‘The X Factor’ and is known for singles including ‘Nothing’s Real but Love’ and ‘Glitter & Gold’. She is a notable songwriter and has co-written four solo albums: Heaven, Freedom, Lady Sing the Blues and Superwoman.  Her debut album ‘Heaven’ was a massive success, selling over 130,000 copies in its first week and going two times platinum in the UK.

Described by The Telegraph as “In the same league as Aretha Franklin…Rich, tender, soulful… with sass and feeling” She has been nominated for two MOBO Awards and one MTV Europe Music Award.

Over the past 10 years Rebecca has performed with some of the most legendary names in the music industry, including Lionel Ritchie, Andrea Bocelli, Burt Bacharach and John Legend, among others. Rebecca is currently in the process of writing and recording her fifth studio album with multiple Grammy Award winning producer, Nile Rodgers.

Fringe host Sarah Prescott says, “I’m so excited to be introducing Rebecca at the Haslemere Fringe! As a long-term fan and fellow northerner in music, I’ve got no doubt Haslemere will love Rebecca just as much as I do. She is a class act, and her vocal ability is second to none, so it’s easy to understand why her shows sell out so quickly. If soulful melodies and powerhouse vocals are up your street, you’re in for a real treat.”
