Peter Brush

A highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes, Peter Brush unassumingly takes the stage before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor-sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion.

Peter performs at all the major clubs across the UK, as well as having done many of its biggest festivals. Formerly a BBC New Comedy Award finalist, he has written for several BBC Radio 4 shows and was the support act for Alexei Sayle’s most recent tour.

”I love Peter Brush, what a comic” Jason Manford

“Unique observations and connections that stand-ups crave” The Guardian

Nick Everritt

Nick Everritt has brought his deadpan comedy stylings to venues across the UK and to the Edinburgh Fringe. Nick was shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award in 2022 and finished second place at British Comedian of the Year 2023.

Nick Everritt has been a regular on the London open mic circuit for the past three years, where he has become well known for his deadpan, robotic delivery and his self-sabotagingly niche brand of meta anti-comedy.

‘A droll, witty and very self-conscious deconstruction of comedy’ – Chortle.

‘Those in search of the truly alternative, look no further’ – One4Review.

Bert Broadbent

Bert Broadbent Comedian

Comedian Bert Broadbent joins our Friday Comedy Night lineup at the Fringe. Bert is an observational London comic who talks about the inane hypocrisies of everyday life, his juggling of class identity, and he also does a bit about having new dog.

Andy Stedman - Comedy MC

With a mix of jokes, comedy songs and plenty of audience interaction, Andy is never afraid to indulge in some friendly back-and-forth with the crowd. With two full Edinburgh shows under his belt and over a thousand comedy gigs, Andy has made a quick transition from professional singer-songwriter to professional comedian.

“Stedman displays a real talent in playing to his audience, creating a friendly rapport which gives the show much of its charm. His songs are genuinely funny” – Broadway Baby

“Bang on trend” – Bruce Dessau, London Evening Standard

Poetry Slam

What is a poetry slam?  Wiki says it is a competitive art event in which poets perform spoken word poetry before a live audience and a panel of judges. Slams are often loud and lively, with audience participation, cheering and dramatic delivery. For Geoff and Steve your Fringe Festival poetry slam hosts, a Slam – is an exciting display of live literature where your own voice counts. Where YOU can say what YOU want to say, in the way YOU want to say it, as long as it’s poetry.

Geoff and Steve have both won numerous poetry slams (including at Glastonbury Festival!) and have gigged together across the country, running workshops and gigs for over thirty years.

On Sunday afternoon at this years’ Fringe, they’ve shaken it up and will slam against each other, as well as co- hosting a slam between young poets from four local schools: Woolmer Hill, The Royal School, Bohunt and Rodborough.

Geoff Allnutt

Geoff Allnutt

Geoff Allnutt aka the Speech Painter is a performance poet, and lyricist for two bands Radio K W G and The Invisible Hats. He has written poetry shows about Walt Disney, Time, Dr Suess & Allen Ginsberg. He is currently writing one about Latvia in WW2 but this time with no jokes.  He loves language and likes to see if it can be broken and put back together to show something new.

Steve Tasane

Steve Tasane

Steve Tasane is a slam-winning poet and award-winning novelist working in the medium of Words Words Words. He likes to make music out of language because the mouth is one of the best instruments ever. He juggles words, dances with them and leads them on a riot round the swings, slides and roundabouts, without crash hats or knee pads. Words. The most fun toys and the most lethal weapons. Armed and ludicrous.
